Alumna supports UL nursing program with gift

Lafayette - Mary Odille Broussard, former director of nursing at University Medical Center and a University of Louisiana graduate, is honoring her coworkers and helping future nurses with a gift to the University.

"I wanted to honor these nurses who have been like family to me. UMC is a special place where the nurses are devoted to caring for a vulnerable patient population. It was a place that gave me a wonderful professional experience," said Broussard.

yes. the state was gonna cut UMC all together, so LGMC picked up the tab and will use it. Ive also heard that the residents/med students will also get to work at LGMC as well as UMC. Its gonna create a lot of jobs because the state was cutting budgets so fast...UMC was losing nurses and departments like crazy.
