you beat me to the post, the last of the 7th rounders were picked and it was a HS pitcher from CA to the Reds. The Stros are back on the clock. They picked 3 pitchers in the first 3 rounds. Craig Biggio's son is one of the best available players on the board. I would not be suprised if he goes to the Astros here.
I was wrong... they did not take Biggio's son.
This is the write up on Strentz by MLB.com he is listed in the Top available players. This list is about 100 players long and Strentz is the only Cajun on the list.
6'01" 215lbs DOB: 11/10/91
This backstop is a young, athletic reciver with potential for average Major League catching and throwing skills from behind the plate and pop in his bat. Strentz is strong but lean, with a well-defined athletic build. He has strength and quickness in his stroke that helps him drive the ball out of the park, but his overall hitting ability does have some holes. He has good speed for his position, helped by good know-how on the basepaths and demonstrates aggressiveness in all aspects of his game
Roarman "BandwagonKing'd" that one. He needs a flood stage-like thread to bounce back. Or, he could just throw out 100 prognostications and only remind people when he hits on the "everybody can guess that well" 50% hit ratio.
(Don't get your panties in a wad, BWK... I look forward to your 2013-2014 "who's going to be the unknown, unappreciated, undervalued, and/or overlooked next Cajun football superstar" that 90% of this forum also has tagged as a superstar.)
I was contacted by the Yankees in the 7th round but I rather my day job
Strentz...10th round? I don't think so.
