Suspect killed in Lafayette home invasion

Lafayette police are investigating a fatal home invasion.

Cpl. Paul Mouton says in a news release two masked suspects armed with handguns forced their way into a home early Wednesday morning.

Mouton says once inside the home, the suspects exchanged gunfire with the home owner.

He says one of the suspects was fatally shot and the second suspect ran from the scene and was seen entering a light colored 4-door vehicle.
