First, I'll say this is all wool gathering (damn I'm getting old).

The thought of Tony as an athletic director somewhat intrigues me. He loves the school, and I think has the right attitude and demeanor for the job. I think he would be aggressive about the athletic departments growth, and he's second to none when you put him in front of prospective donors (OK maybe Hud). I don't think he wants to Coach much longer (just opinion), and wouldn't be surprised if he was looking for something new after Austin finishes his eligibility or gets drafted high after his junior year. It might also be a way that you could keep Coach Deggs in the fold.

Wool Gathering???? Are you sure you are still alive? I've never heard of this phrase in my life. I thought I knew all the slang from the 50's - 90's. What on Earth does it mean? = - )

I will give some credit to Robe, but if we lose Deggs then we will see where we stand again. Robe is one of the best pitching coaches in the country, bar none. But, we hadn't really hit for squat since the '07 team until this year with Deggs. So I will hold off and see what the offseason and draft has in store for the Cajuns. If we retain Deggs and all the guys we signed come in and we lose no one to the draft then I will be very optimistic for next season. With that being said, that is a tall order.

Ask yourself, who brought Deggs in?

Did Deggs not have other offers coming here? I understand that he held the same job at aTm. I sure hope we can keep him. Who would be in line to replace Tony? Would it be Babineaux?

Deggs resigned his position at Texas A&M for personal reasons.
