as far as pitching goes tomorrow, what do we do? start Aut as planned? go with Boutte? give Jordan Wallace a call and see if she's available?

Well to win the regional, it would be pretty advantagious to win the first game. We aren't luxurious enough to play against a crap SWAC team like LSU and not pitch our best pitcher. We can't think past games, on the road in a regional, we have to make sure we win with our best, then plan for the next game afterwards. If Tony doesn't start his son tomorrow, he's an idiot.

I am looking at the big picture which is not against Jackson State. If you can't beat Jackson State with the other guys pitching (and by the way, we need hits and runs) HOW are you going to beat SHSU or lsu with them.

I'll let our coach make the decisions and hope we start hitting and scoring some runs.

If we pitch Austin against Jackson State today, what an absolute waste. If we can't beat Jackson State with "other pitchers" then we certainly can't beat anyone else in this regional with those other pitchers. I'd say start Boutte or Smith today and Austin in the elimination game at 2 o'clock tomorrow to try to advance to the championship game(s)... THAT is the best approach if somehow trying to win this regional. If the Cajuns are content winning just one game in the regional, then sure, pitch Austin today... Regardless, Cajun bats will have to wake up and they will have to slug their way through the regional...

Exactly! I say use smith because if we are to have ANY chance of winning the regional, you have to beat the worst team you'll face with a down the line pitcher. Get aut tomorrow and Boutte for sunday and if, IF we get to monday, piece together a group of pitchers. Bottom line though was that the decision to start Wilson yesterday was not the wrong decision, our bats cost us that game.

Gotta go with Boutte today. The strategy doesn't need to change... the offensive production needs to change. You have to save Austin for the next matchup against SHS.
