I'm sure Jordan Wallace is more then happy with the opportunity to try out for the USA National Team.

Jordan was on last year and more than deserved to be on this year. NFCA takes the votes for the All-Region teams and checks the stats for those All-Region selections to choose their All-Americans. For some reason, that I'll check on tomorrow, Jordan was not selected to the Central Region first or second teams. The only way she would not be selected was if she was not nominated. I do not know who does the nominating, but I'll find out and we'll rake them over the coals, as they deserve.

Wow! Fantastic! The Cajuns continue to have players deemed All American. That makes 42 and 43 in the history of this elite program. Twenty-eight in the 20 years of the Girouard era and 15 in the 12 years of the Lotief era for a total of 43.

Even though we have two this year, we should have at least three more! Many colleges have 4 and 5. So, the point is, we should always have more. We had no All Americans in 1998, 2007 and 2010. Then, 43 since the program began in 1981 AIN'T BAD! BTW, Stefni Whitton Lotief was the FIRST All American in 1989. AND she was named All American twice.

Some of these All Americans will be at the First Alumni Softball Game sometime between November 7-9, 2013 at Lamson Park.

The Women's College World Series begins Thursday. It will be on the ESPN networks. If you want to be entertained and amazed, tune in.

After leading the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns to a 47-15 season and their third NCAA Super Regional in four years, seniors Brianna Cherry and Sarah Draheim were named National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Americans, as announced by the NFCA office on May 29. Cherry picked up second-team honors and Draheim picked up third team honors.

I remember watching Stefni play. She was pretty darn awesome...as is this program.

I am at a complete loss to explain this. Jordan was nominated, but the coaches of the Central Region did not vote her as one of the top pitchers in the region. I can understand Keilani Ricketts & Blaire Luna as the first team pitchers, but Kim Bruins of Texas as the Utility Player/Pitcher on the first team All-Region? Whitney Canion of Baylor, Michelle Gascoigne of Oklahoma, even Emily Rousseau of Western Kentucky are acceptable second team pitchers, but Rebecca Villereal of Texas Southern is not better than Jordan, and Kenzi Tate of Tennessee-Martin as the second team UP/P is not acceptable ahead of her either. I cannot possibly fathom the reason these coaches did not vote for Jordan.
