When Conrad's shot didn't go out and Stentz throw to 3rd went to the left fielder I knew it really wasn't our day!!! I sure have enjoyed them this year and I think that the Fans are back!!!
I think it is dicey for Florida, but could happen. Candidates for the 8th SEC spot are Texas A&M, Florida, and Auburn. You could make a case for each. The RPI ranks are close ... A&M(33), Florida (34), Auburn (38) entering today. Total SEC records are close ... A&M (15-18), Florida (14-17), Auburn (13-18) ... but Auburn did finish last among the three. Only Texas A&M won an SEC Tournament game ... and won two (Florida and Vanderbilt). Texas A&M won the only game in which the Aggies and Gators squared off this season. Auburn took 2/3 from both A&M and Florida. And as you said, Florida closed the season poorly. It is a mess.
What hurts A&M is that they are a mere 5-16 vs. the RPI Top 25 and 10-21 vs. the RPI Top 50 ... they only played one game vs. the RPI 50-100 and lost. Florida is 11-13 and 14-18 vs. the RPI Top 25 and 50 respectively. Both A&M and Florida played very difficult schedules with the Aggies having the 8th most difficult schedule and Florida coming in at #2. Auburn is #32.
Will the SEC get more than eight? Possibly. Ten? Probably not. But you never know. If it is ten, then all three are in.
It is definitely nail-biting time for all three. I think that San Diego State popped the bubble for one of them.
And yes, I agree ... Florida would be a tough draw for a #2 seed. As would Texas A&M and to some degree Auburn.

His defensive play is very inconsistent. He is NOT a strong defensive catcher.
As an alum and Cajun fan, Benson did smooch our backside pretty good on CST by calling us UL almost every time during his interview. However, after than happened, the old fart on CST referred to us at least twice as ULM. I think he was worried Ronnie, being an Alice Shoe boy, would whip him if he did not say ULL or make up for Benson saying UL by saying ULM.
Today, we were not the better team. Tomorrow we will see.
I talked to him today and thanked him for getting the B-ball tourney to NO and keeping the Belt office there---he said that a big reason for the tourney in NO was the crowd that the Cajuns could bring---We are the most important school inthis conference in so many ways!!!
Benson and Waters are two peas in a pod. Neither should be or should have ever been commissioner of a conference.
You are right, Turbine. It's like reusing a condom that you already know has a hole in it.
As for Benson... are we really impressed that this hypocrite says "UL" when he's in our midst... but reverts to "ULL" when he gets 20 miles out of Lafayette? Nonsense. The SBC is transforming from a small life raft we've had to share, to a coffin we have to share. Benson is a mortician. We need to escape the funeral home while we have a pulse.
