Besides, to win a championship, you have to be good, deep, healthy and lucky. Luck was not on our side today, and given injuries and lack of pitching depth, I think the Cajuns did more than expected.

I don't see anyone not being "classy". We certainly missed our own opportunities. Personally, I don't see any point in talking about pitching depth. For next year... yes. For this postseason... no way. Jordan was outstanding from wire to wire. When you're in the supers, you cannot get those "slapper out of the box" calls. You have exactly "none" all year... and they miraculously appear in a super? First, they were not making contact out of the box. Second, unless it's grossly obvious, the ump cannot see it. It was BS and should not have been called. In close contests, in regionals and beyond, an ump doesn't create his own interpretation. I hope it gets reviewed and he gets dressed down.

I'm not as upset about his strike zone. It sucked... but he was consistent. Jordan doesn't work the ball inside out. and Michigan did. That ump sees anything moving from in to out as a strike.

The way I see things, is Michigan won the third game, we won the second game, and WE gave them game one with a little help from blue. I agree with Stevie P, you always have to beat the other team and the officials, that is just part of the game.

I agree to a point, but not with always and not with "you" unless by "you" he meant "we." I also don't agree with the loose implication that this is how it is and should be.

Michagrin didn't have to beat the officials. Just the opposite.

Turb, you are right, always is not true, but almost always there are going to be bad calls one way or the other, and usually for both teams in the same arena in the same game. And by YOU I think he meant all teams, and I agree with that.

And yes bleu blew a score in game one, and and out against Michigan, but at the same time our players had every opportunity to win game one anyway but could not, and that has to be on them. You think Haack is blaming blue for the non-score or herself for dropping a pop up?

It's water under the bridge... but I have to partly disagree. Michigan should be the one regretting leaving a ball over the fat part of the plate or not cleanly fielding a ball. Haack's drop could be a forgettable moment, if not for "blue". When you earn your way to a super regional, believing you can "take it out of the hands of an official" is unrealistic. This particular sport... with 21 outs in regulation... and numerous one run games... usually decided by one bad pitch... one bobbled ball... cannot be subject to an official making close, slight, view-blocked, impossible angle perspective, personal judgement calls. Interestedly, you rarely see those calls go in favor of the "non monster program"... interestingly.

No doubt. Next year is a mass of sophomores. It will be interesting to see next year's 1-4. There will undoubtedly be a lot of movement in the lineup before the year's over. We will sorely miss these seniors.

What about some JUCOs??? I think that a junior to be would know that these 4 players are leaving and to come to UL and start would be motivation to get some really great transfers!!!

I thought they were out of the box on most of those, to be honest.

What I did have a problem with was the 5 second calls on Jordan in game 1. Driesenga stepped on the rubber and waited more than 5 seconds at least 5 times that I counted.

Hollier from LSUA and from Rayne, made JUCO all-american and based on what I read, is an excellent offensive player.

A couple of the calls, our girls did step on the line and once out of the box, but the question is did that happen before or after contact. That's a hard call to make, and if its close, you don't make that call in a super regional. JMO.
