I was actually pleasantly surprised with Joe Davis and Garland Cooper - especially Joe. Kept reminding people that our program is one of the top softball programs in the nation. Kept reminding people that we've been here before - often. Was very knowledgable about our history and about each player's story, tendencies, background... one of the most pleasant announcers I've ever heard call Cajun softball games from that outfit. I'd like to write to tell him so, if someone has his address. ESPN usually sends hacks to these games. I thought Joe did a great job. And Garland's from Northwestern. What do you expect? LOL.
True... but we had no choice. The only pitcher who has performed well in any meaningful games this year was Jordan. People talk about Brown's game against WKU in the SBC tourney, but she gave up 5 runs. We need pitching badly. We need someone to give us a game in the last 2 weekends to get us over the hump.
WHAT ERRORS ? Someone please explain to me how you can see someone out of the batter's box when you are calling balls and strikes? IMPOSSIBLE. I watched the replays of every call in slow motion and we are in the box !On the line is considered in the box!!! PITIFUL
Because sometimes it works like this ...
You get another ump behind the plate that is giving a little more off of the plate (in this case, in both directions ... amazingly). Driesenga spots more east/west (whereas Wallace is really good at throwing up/down, in and out). Driesenga was getting a few more inches of east/west (in/out) in this game and that can be enough to miss the sweet part of the bat. The Cajuns also had their fair share of hard hit balls ... hit right at Wolverine defenders.
Michigan should feel very fortunate to have escaped the Cajuns. Last year I thought Arizona State was the better team. This year, Michigan was not the better team. Louisiana was the better team.

I hope umpire is REPRIMANDED or SUSPENDED .
Having reviewed with coach who had the pleasure of coaching both Cherry and Myers; we was screwed by umps in first game; clearly won second and just missed winning by inches with hard hit ball by Draheim to SS in 3rd. Myers scores in 1st inning of 1st game and who knows what happens - we don't commit silly mistake on easy fly to right center and who knows what happens. Second game what can I say. Just whipped them. Silly calls out by ump on slappers (maybe they haven't seen any all year - no calls like that in two years and none in away/tournament games all year) WTF!!! F stands for PH(F)OOEY for those who were wondering. Just not meant to be. Our super to win. A lot asked of Wallace. A second pitcher and maybe that helps. We have got to find that number two next year. Wallace cannot be asked to handle the load like this again. Someone steps up or we find a jewel coming in. So disappointed for the girls. They gave it their all and came up short on just a pitch/fielding play/running play or two; just as Lotief predicted. Drink starting to help. I'll get another and it'll all be good. Then back to work on the ABET report. God Bless America and our Cajun softball team.
Please, let's tone it back. We had a good season, did not get the breaks we needed. But I am yet to meet any umpire, ref, or official that comes to a field of play with an agenda to make one team a winner or loser. Besides, to win a championship, you have to be good, deep, healthy and lucky. Luck was not on our side today, and given injuries and lack of pitching depth, I think the Cajuns did more than expected.
Just a week ago comments were made about Alice Shoe being cry babies. Keep it classy.
You are correct. But misapplying or over stepping your area of expertise is a grounds for reprimand or suspension....same as coaching or playing.
