Torino seemed clueless...which, I guess, is why her timeouts were minimal.

Torina quote after game, "If I had it to do over again I would want Bianca Bell in that situation every day and twice on Sunday." So, with the bases loaded and the game on the line the best LSU has is a FRESHMAN who has never been in that situation before? That says a lot about the ability of the others players on the team. As good as Corbello and Landry have hit the ball as freshman, I doubt if Michael would want them at the plate in that situation rather than a player with more experience.

Good point! Also, we were screwed over last year with regard to seeding. We were ranked near 10th or better and then get seeded 16, so we can play #1 in the supers. Better to be seeded where we were this year.

Seeded #14 and traveled to #3. I get your point though. Last year I think a good seeding would have been #12.

If you have to keep reminding everyone that you are a quality team and quality program . . . maybe you're not. If they would play UL during the regular season then perhaps they would see the same results during the season. In addition, if UL and LSU would play a home and home series each, the Cajuns and Tigers might not be matched up so often in the post-season. Maybe that is a reason for the Cajuns not to play the Tigers during the season. Let them host a regional we can win.

In many instances, perception is reality. It seems that LSU wants to give the perception that there is no value in playing us in the regular season, as they are the "flagship" program in the state. As long as they can keep from losing to us and progressing in post season play, like they did last year, that perception will be augmented. As evidenced by our success against them whenever we play them, there is no question we are the top softball program in the state. Somehow, we have to find a way to get it in the heads of the powers that be, which include ESPN, the members of the NCAA selection committee, even our own conference members, that this is an elite program, every bit on the same level as Florida, Tennessee, Oregon, Texas and multiple other top flight names. It doesn't mean our team should be treated as demi-goddesses, but they shouldn't be treated as a nuisance to get rid of like you would a fly.

I'm afraid it's going to take something shocking, or several shocking things, to get them to treat us as an elite program. Just beating LSU doesn't cut it. I don't even think beating Michigan this weekend will be enough. We know LSU will never treat us with respect, so we will have to surpass what even we have done in the past to get the treatment that other elite programs do.
