I was listening to the game ... some real tension at the end of this one after Troy won ... celebrating on South Alabama's field. Tempers were flaring.

This should be a good Sun Belt Tournament.

Explain the tie breaker please. I thought it was record against 3rd place. Then 4th, so on and so on. That would mean USA is champ. USA beat us 2 out of 3 troy only 1 out of 3.

I caught jay referencing something along these lines in the broadcast, but wasn't sure exactly.

I read on the Conference boards that technically since us and FAU finished tied, that they compare their full record vs. both us and FAU. They don't just go by the tournament seed of us being the 3 seed. Since both us and FAU have the same record, they don't take into account our tiebreaker over FAU... they just look at it as being tied for sake of records against.

Therefore... Troy is 3-3 against both UL and FAU... while South Alabama is 2-4 vs. both teams. Therefore Troy wins the tiebreak.

Because this is Troy and South Alabama's second series this season.... and they tied at 3-3 overall. So the next tiebreak is record against the 3rd Place team. While in this scenario... there's a tie for 3rd with UL and FAU, which is why it's their record against both teams.
