As I said a couple of weeks ago the SBC remained the 5th rated conference.
The SBC has 4 teams in the top 35 of the RPI. FAU now making a push for post season at large bid. With a good run in the tournament they will be a bubble team.
Dude I said last weekend 4 wins was likely the magic number and we are now there. Read my post I said I think we are in. A "lock" no. Let's say Cajuns go 0-2, someone other than USA, Troy, UL, or FAU wins the tournament and let's say over FAU in the finals. FAU would likely pass us in RPI. I am not sure the SBC gets 5 teams in? If we go 0-2 and the right teams win and lose our RPI could easily drop outside of #30. I have been following this long enough to see the Cajuns get left out with an RPI around #30.
I guess what I'm saying is, there's no way we go 0-2 in the tourny.

Knock on wood.
The conference should have used different language here. They should have used "highest place team", not "highest seeded team". "Seeded" implies the seed they use for the conference tournament. But if this were the case, then South Alabama would be the #1 seed as they would have a better record against the #3 seed (Louisiana) than Troy.
Of course, resolving this sort of tiebreaker using highest seeded team could be a problem in certain circumstances if this tiebreaker was needed for two distinct ties ... where the actual seeds were used to break each other's tiebreakers (chicken and egg problem). Hence, conference placement is used (and in our present case, UL and FAU both finished 3rd).
