The Astros are on the verge of a naming a president to replace George Postolos, who unexpectedly resigned Monday. An announcement is expected to be made by Friday. Postolos left the Astros to return to a role as an advisor in major-league franchise acquisitions. He was a key figure in owner Jim Crane’s 2011 purchase of the Astros. The process of naming Postolos’ replacement has been handled by the business side of Astros operations and Crane has been involved in the search. Twitter: ChronAstros
