    UL Basketball Byron Starks

Nyron Starks one of UL's true Champions!!!

I had some great memories of watching Byron, he was a hustler, great athlete, and a player who played the game clean but hard!!

My son will be going to one of his upcoming shooting camps and he is very excited to geaux. He saw a video clip which I will try to post. If I am unable I know the great Turbine will be able to do so.

Byron has a book that I purchased online as I thought it would be a great read for me and my son!

We are fortunate to have great men like Byron to work with our kids and parents. We all give back in our own ways, whether we mean to or not, whether it is good or bad.

You are so right. B-Starks and C-Mack together were a deadly offensive and defensive combination.

Great to hear of the success of Starks.

Any idea why he would use UL Lafayette on the cover? He isn't required to as he is not associated with the university. Here is local, state and possibly national press on a great book and he calls us UL Lafayette, something we are trying to rid ourselves of. Just wondering why.

Not arguing the content of the book. Just don't understand when the university has the opportunity for publicity, especially with a former player, why the UL Lafayette reference? Of course, all of our former players in the pros still call us Louisiana-Lafayette, so why am I surprised?

Makes me wonder sometimes. Every admin should take a refresher course in marketing. The administration is probably the only contact pro players have with UL and that is where they pick up their vocabulary.

ps Even with his poor UL vocabulary I remember when Starks was a joy to watch.
