The joke I heard after this news broke was how Starks was going to recruit on a limited budget now.

In the words of the late Johnny Carson, “that’s some funny stuff.”

Is he still the only player to have his jersey stolen during an NCAA tournament? Seems that would have gained more notoriety

If Byron could have a great JC run could he be the head coach here one day? Is that a good enough resume for the job at UL?

I like him or Brad Boyd. Brad just needs to filter some of his thoughts a bit.

Why are we so bent here about hiring former players/local guys?

  10. UL Basketball Re: Byron Starks

Because both are outstanding. You clearly don’t understand how much these two are liked by high school and AAU coaches. They both can teach, recruit, and know the sport. Sometimes greatness is all around you. George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, all close to each other in small communities. Three of the greatest people in this countries history.

"Four seasons as head coach at LSU-Eunice where he led the Bengals to an 84-33 record and an impressive 39-6 mark in conference play. LSU-E won four Louisiana Community College Athletic Conference titles".... does he really need to prove more with "a great jc run" or does he just need more time? Or other reason?
