I heard last night that Byron Starks is expected to be named as a new assistant men's basketball coach.

This is great news. Starks gave us some GREAT years at UL and I hope we can return the favor and show our support for him as he joins this coaching staff.

I love this hire. Starks was one of my favorites. He should be a great role model for our young team.

It looks like he can be one of those behind the scene motivators and example maker. Maybe Evans could have used Byron to keep his players on track. haha A former UL great who is a motivational speaker/teacher/moral leader, I love this hire already.

Great hire in my opinion. If I remember correctly didn't Byron and Coach Evans go at it once because he thought the team lacked discipline?

He was always a fan favorite and I thought he did a great job of representing our University. Good to have him back on board.
