That's the spirit, RC. That's the reason we are where we are. We have FAR too many "fans" with that attitude. If we keep it up maybe we can move back to the SLC! That should satisfy a large number of the "faithful".Originally Posted by RCAJUN90
Bought Season Tickets for the first time this year!
Never bought Season tickets, never will, I get walk up only.
Bought them in the past, will do so again this season!
Renewed my tickets already, I am a Season ticket holder!
Saw/Heard a Louisiana Football Season Ticket Ad and bought tickets!
Won't be buying season tickets.

If you had any brains, you would realize that you could invest a little cash into Saints season tickets, go to 2 or 3 games, and sell the rest on Stub Hub or something like it, and make enough profit to pay for the tickets you used, and probably the Cajuns tickets too.Originally Posted by RCAJUN90
There's a 25,000 person waiting list for Saint season tickets so even if I wanted to get into the scalping business I couldn't. My point is that John Q. Public isn't going to rush out a buy season tickets for a bad product. If we win like the Saints did last year, then John Q. Public will rush to buy season tickets. Winning will solve all our problems. As for as me, I'm just being honest that I will probably never be a season ticket holder. Not because I don't support the program but because I can never tell how many tickets I will need. I will be bringing 7 people to the Ohio game. If every Cajun fan did that we would fill Cajun Field.Originally Posted by rhineaux

If your loyalty and enjoyment lies with the Cajuns, and the university you do what you can to support that which you love. If you see the Cajuns and loyalty to your university as simply an outlet for your entertainment then you expect results. That persons loyalty is in effect not loyalty.Originally Posted by RaginFan2
IMO supporters have a lot more credibility with critique of the team than fair weather fans who expect and demand success for their entertainment dollars. We should never confuse one for the other.
I found myself getting upset because I confused the two. Now I understand that the two are totally different type of people and not worth worrying about, they are who they are.
Cajun Express bait. I knew you couldn't resist. I'm glad you were appointed by UL to declare who are fans who is not. I will never be a season ticket holder but if everyone brought seven fans with them to each game we would be in good shape.Originally Posted by Cajun Express
Do you geaux to the games, as I understand not everyones schedule allows them to do so, and thus some do not buy season tickets?Originally Posted by RCAJUN90

I will be there for the Ohio game with seven other fans. I will have to see if my schedule will allow for other games. Also if we are not very fun to watch this year I will spend my entertainment dollars on something else and listen to the games on the internet or watch the couple of TV games we have. I will not go to the McNeese game.Originally Posted by DaddyCajun
There is a difference. I will go to every game I can attend even if we lose all of our games because I am a fan. Others will only attend 1 or 2 games (though they could attend more) even if we win all of our games because they are not fans. That simple. No big deal and no need to get upset, some people just have no loyalty. I don't cheer for the cajuns and saints because they are the best teams (haha) I cheer for them because they are MY teams.
I'm a Saints and Cajun fan. To suggest those fans don't have loyalty to their teams is ridiculous. It have been very difficult to be a Cajuns and Saints fan over the years. You don't know me. I agree with you in that I cheer for the Cajuns and Saints because those are my teams. However I find it very painful to watch the Cajuns lose or worst not even be competitive like we were for a few games last year.Originally Posted by geo_cajun
Nobody is questioning that you are a true fan. Its not like saying you do or don't have dark hair, or a fat belly, its an abstract thing. It's just frustrating for some folks who do go to lots of games, who give money and buy season tickets to all sports, to hear your garbage about the coach and everything else, when you don't participate. I understand that you live far away, and can't make it every weekend. I understand that not everyone can afford to buy season tickets for their whole family and make the trip every saturday.Originally Posted by RCAJUN90
but in our situation, where money is the most needed thing in this program, and the number of season tickets sold means a lot to outsiders, especially advertisers, when someone who doesn't give to the cause regularly, or states that they won't support unless the team wins, complains about stuff. I'm glad that you'll be there with 7 others for the Ohio game, but to expect others to treat you like that is something special, or to think that automatically gives you the right to be critical of the program is a little off. Especially when you criticize those who do give so much to the program.
I don't really care what you do or don't do (actually i hope you DO make it to more games, and would offer libations to you if you do), and I don't care if you say you are or are not a fan. Because if and when the Cajuns football program becomes something to envy, I will know in my heart, that I was one of those who bought season tickets, I was one who bought concessions at games, I was one who bought more Cajuns apparel than I can wear, and I was one of the few that was at every game, no matter the record, for the past 6, 7, 8 seasons since I started at UL. And if that situation is realized, and you and I are standing by each other at a big bowl game, celebrating our team's success, and we both tell everyone that we've both been hardcore fans, even through the bad times, I won't call you out. I'll know you're not telling the whole truth. you'll know you're not telling the whole truth, but that's fine.
Pardon the personal shots, I'm positive that you aren't a bad person, but you can't have it both ways. And before you even say it...don't even bring that K-sip ____ with me
