DETROIT – Astros second baseman Jose Altuve was placed on the bereavement list Tuesday following the death of his grandmother. Players must stay on the list for a minimum of three days and are allowed a maximum of seven. The Astros called up infielder Jake Elmore from Class AAA Oklahoma City to replace Altuve.
