My experience has been the RCAF is more "general" than "specific" oriented, and I understand that. They want discretionary funds for salaries or other items, and we do need that.

The new scoreboard is a microcosm of my complaint about the sports administration as a whole. Tony/Gerald/Ken identified a specific project with a specific price and went out and asked for the money. In other words, this is what we need, this is what it cost, this is when we can have it purchased and delivered, and this is when it will be installed and operational.

Wow, a plan, with a price, and a delivery timeline, and folks are willing to put up the funding.

    Novel concept.

I agree. Maybe this will make a light bulb go off and make the admin realize that if they replicate this hopefully the same result will happen. Don't want to beat a dead horse in regards to the admin and others thoughts.

Anyone know if the radar board will stick around? I'm assuming it will come down.

yea right. Robe and Robe alone secured these funds. If I recall correctly, this donor had some funds pledged for the new baseball stadium and since we screwed the pooch on that one, Tony talked with them about paying it forward with that 'earmarked' money for some immediate needs (scoreboard). Once the agreement was in place it was turned over to Farmer/Gerald Hebert or whoever/whatever it is that needs and wants the recognition. Ken W stated directly and unequivocally that these funds were a DIRECT result of Tony's relationship with the donor.

Tony doesn't like the radar, doesn't want the pitchers to know what they are throwing.

Donor who is funding the scoreboard upgrade was not involved with the guy who planned to fund the entire stadium upgrade. That guy ran into financial difficulty.
