We got the ball after halftime. 9 innings/2 halves = 4-1/2 innings. Come on Dad, get with the program!!

On a side note, I know this has probably been answered by Jay before, but how in the world does DeBlieux end up being pronounced "W"???

p.s. Love the Frith sidebar related by Jay in this game!! Really happy for him! (typed as he throws a runner out at home)

7th inning stretch time. 16-7 Cajuns.

Adams bomb ends it for the Cajuns!!!!!! 17-7. I didn't count on the 10-run rule coming into play. Great way to end it for the Cajuns!!! What a game for Adams and Frith. This feels soooo much better.

    GEAUX CAJUNS!!!!!!!

Disappointing weekend overall but salvaging the last game probably still leaves us in good position to make the NCAA tournament. That makes Game 3 a huge win for us. Need to learn from the weekend, do well at ULM starting on Thursday, and make noise in the conference tournament. If our guys do all that we will be in post season play. With USA being close now to having clinched 1st place, we probably will be in a diffferent bracket than the Jags.

I thought we'd win 5 of our last 6. We can still fall within one of that. Season isn't ruined.

Way to go, Cajuns, for not giving up after losing two straight...and then being down 6-0 after the first half inning.

The only team we need to worry about is FAU due to the fact that we are tied as far as locking up the 3 seed. We do, however, hold the tie breaker if that is how the Sunbelt determines the higher seed in the event of a tie. There is also the possibility of a us getting the 2 seed over Troy if some things fall into line.

Take care of business next weekend and have a good showing in the tournament and we should be good for an at large bid according to the published predictions. I guess an automatic bid would be okay too if it should happen.

This team has certainly overachieved considering the fact that the pitching staff is not very good (average at best). I think they make a regional, but unfortunately, the pitching is not strong enough to get through a regional format (hope they prove me wrong). If Tony can recruit some pitching, this team can be scary good next year.

+1.......If some of his past teams had this offense they would have gone very, very far. This team has a ton of heart and character, but is obviously not balanced enough to win a series with a top 20 team. The two losses were not close.

JPB said yesterday that he knew the family and it was pronounced "W". Maybe a French historian (Boomer??) could elaborate, but I suppose his way back people were from Blieux, France........lending the surname de Blieux..... And/Or the Cajun word for eyes ...yeux....got contorted in the annunciation somehow, somewhere along the way. (Duh bl yeux). That is purely a W.A.G., but the etymology would be interesting if someone actually knows.

What is the side bar with Frith and Jay? I don't know where Frith came from, but he's been rotting on the bench for four years, nice to see him have a career day on Senior Day.
