He's sitting right next to the Sun Belt Conference representatives in the booth. If you were at the tourney last year at Lamson, you'll remember the PA announcer was using Lafayette there as well - at our home park. We've made great strides over the past couple of years - I'm not getting greedy.

You and WCD35 have both said that the reason he's doing it is because of the SBC officials. I already know that. My comment was more or less tongue-in-cheek.

But I still think it's BS that the conference can't allow an announcer to use the proper athletics branding name, especially if said announcer knows what is right and what is wrong. And considering the university put out this big notice about a month ago.

Very interesting thought. My guess is that we'll still get the 'Lafayette' treatment, unfortunately, as it's a conference event and officials usually err on the side of caution.
