The Angels are playing the final two innings under protest tonight at Minute Maid Park. After Chris Iannetta walked, Astros manager Bo Porter called on lefthander Wesley Wright to relieve Paul Clemens with two on and two out in the seventh inning. Before a pinch hitter was announced, Porter called Hector Ambriz to relieve Wright. Angels manager Mike Scioscia then sprinted out to protest, clearly demanding that Wright had to pitch. Crew chief Fieldin Culbreth huddled with the umpires, but Scioscia couldn’t persuade them to rule in his favor.
