Default Stanley Smith - ADT DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Smith (6-1, 240, Louisiana) had a stellar night defensively in his af2 debut in Week 14 for Texas in the team's 74-44 home loss to Lubbock. Despite the defeat, the Copperheads rookie from Louisiana made quite a first impression with five tackles, two sacks, one pass breakup, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries against the Renegades. Both of Smith's fumble recoveries resulted in touchdowns as well. He snared his first recovery in the end zone for a score in the second quarter and picked up his second in the fourth quarter and returned it 23 yards for a touchdown. Smith is the second Texas player honored by the af2 with a weekly award this season. WR/KR Jarrod Fuller earned the U.S. Army Ironman of the Week Award for his strong two-way play in Week 6.
