Former Opelousas Catholic girls basketball coach Erroll Rogers took time before hitting the road to recruit to speak with Daily World sports editor Eric Narcisse about life as the new head Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns women's basketball coach.
Q: Have you and your family made the move to Lafayette?
A: Yes we have. We bought a house out here.
Q: Have y'all had a lot of people calling to congratulate you and/or to see how things are going?
A: No not really. We haven't put a house phone on yet and not everyone has my cell phone. There is no house phone, so that's great.
Q: Has it sunk in yet that you are a women's college basketball coach?
A: I don't even look at it as me being a head coach. I'm a coach. I have a job to do, so I'm just trying to work. Honestly, I don't even think about it. Maybe when we start playing games I will, but right now I'm just trying to get things done.
