Thread: Myers Sets Run Record; Cajuns Improve Streak to 21, 22...

  1. Default Myers Sets Run Record; Cajuns Improve Streak to 21, 22...

No player in Ragin’ Cajuns history has crossed the plate more times than Nerissa Myers. Myers scored three runs in the Cajuns doubleheader sweep of ULM, and now has now scored 251 career runs. The Cajuns won the games by scores of 8-2 and 12-3 on Saturday, May 4 at the ULM Softball Complex in Monroe, La.

No doubt, Myers offensive production, her stellar shortstop play makes her the greatest non pitcher of all times at UL. And that is saying a LOT.

She is up there but that is a very debatable statement

I will say this about Myers, she is the best at the plate in clutch situations that I have seen over that past 10 years in this program.

100% agree with that. For all the players that hit as well as her, she's the best defensive player in that span too. Katie and Vallie were great defensive players and hit for avg, but not the power of course

I think Gomez should always be in any conversation for best non-pitcher as well

Gomez and Orgeron numbers a just crazy, but I would take Myers in clutch situations and I don't say that easily.

Myers has power but doesn't just try to hit everything out the park. I agree, she can make something happen even on a bad pitch and has the legs to do more with each hit

I think it's still worth some debate, but there's a reason I said she's definitely up there

Did anybody ever give the hypothetical starting line up for next year??? I hope we are reloading as we lose what---4 starters ??? Just a little look and wondering could a RS or a true freshman possibly come in and start???? Could we actually be better at some positions???

Boomer I think we need to improve at pitching. Right now we simply do not have a answer for number two. Possibly one of these young women can pick it up. I am pretty sure the problem with Hamilton is not physical and she was solid as a true freshman. We have two promising freshman pitchers coming in.

You are not reloading Myers, and Cherry, Hacck, and Draheim in a freshman class.

Two freshman with a a high probability of being in the lineup are Kendall Smith and Sarah Arceneaux. If Victoria works on what she needs to, she will be one of the top pitchers in the country next season. If not, the pitcher from Indiana has as good a chance of being #2 as the others. Projected positions for next year, Linzey Cifreo and Shyanne McDowell will share time at catcher, Kelsey Vincent at first, Megan Thomas or a freshman at second, Samantha Walsh at shortstop, Natalie Fernandez at third, Shellie Landry in left field, Leandra Maly in center and Kendall Smith or someone currently on the roster in right.
