The UL System Board of Supervisors will vote Friday on whether to approve the appointment of UL's new business college dean.

The board's committee meetings will be Thursday, while the full board will meet Friday in Baton Rouge.

The university's search committee tapped as its new dean of the B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration -Joby John, who's served for the past eight years as the marketing department chair at Bentley College in Waltham, Mass.

The dean's position has been open since 2005, when then-dean Lewis Gale left to take a job as dean of a business school in Utah. Meanwhile, the college has been guided by two interim deans, faculty members Paula Carson and most recently Ellen Cook.
