It is exactly as you would think guys...from what I was told. I wanted to spill the beans last week, but did not for Silvey's sake.

Silvey was otherwise excited about things, anybody that went to the track lately could see that; the improvements were everywhere and Silvey was pretty excited.

But...UL...they told him this and told him that...I had heard that he was filing a lawsuit against them?

A lawsuit against UL by a Coach? Couldn't happen here....

The Ray Authement Ragin Cajun Athletic Legacy Tour is in full swing. You'll laugh, You'll cry, You'll be left asking why.

Unless you are going to play one of the BIG THREE Football, Baseball, Basketball then I advise you to go elsewhere. You will be treated as a second rate athlete from the admin. Just like the Best Track Coach in the history of this program was treated.

You can't complain to him yet, becuase he ain't here. We are still in FREAKIN TRANSITION.

This is not just about Authement, Savioe couls have phoned Silvey and given him the money he was promised in the Fall. But he did not do that and Silvey resigned. Track would have been in the hunt for a top ten finish in the NCAA's within three years and they ____ed it away but doing the same ____ that the admin has done to every track coach to ever coach the Cajuns. The have tarnished this university's reputation and will never succeed in any sport until they pony up the dough and stick with there promises.

I am done with this program and this university. My loyalty will go elsewhere, just not to the east.

    I am just about done.

On February 13th we(Delphi members) handed 2K over to the guy(Silvey) as a gesture of support from John Q Public after the rug had been pulled out from under him on another issue. I believe Beau Cajun and VO were the presenters. This was just a matter of time.

What an ass backwards operation. David W, Scott F.....help, we need some answers before everyone jumps ship.

Will things change as soon as "The Fossil" rolls out and Doc S moves in?

    Z _
And now for the kicker..........what quality track & field coach in his right mind would come in and take over this program? ...........crickets..........crickets..........No one; and who could blame them!
We get a quality hire, things appear to be moving in the right direction and BAM!, its back to square one; and honestly, probably worse than that!

I am fed up. It didn't even take this. Everything about this operation is a joke. We have pleaded (and even helped definedhow) to this admin to create a private funding stream to take care of being in a state that takes care of only one. Most people cannot comprehend this but this state's limited public funding of everyone but one, is a huge advantage to UL. We could, under a smart admin, distinguish ourselves fairly easy from the rest of the state schools... all of them. The state is assisting us by funding all of us so poorly. UL could easily launch a much more substantial private funding charter, way ahead of anyone else in this state, other than one entity that we should just accept and leave out of the discussion. There is such a gap from one to all the rest, that space is incredibly available. I am sick of this pathetic excuse for a UL admin.

This admin has elected to play footsies with their buddies and pretend that hanging low and hoping high was miraculously going to get it done. No guts, no glory. They have no guts.

I'm fed up. Just1More is NoMore. The UL admin pulls a vacuum.

If somehow the Dr. Joseph Savoie regime is different... he had better come out immediately with one massive over-reaching statement that we are no longer accepting of athletic mediocrity and that he is 100% committed to a major launch of private funding to accomplish instant (virtually) dominance in all sports. I don't want to know that anything we do puts us "in the hunt"... I want a plan that puts us 10x above the next contender... then see where we get. These people are absolutely pathetic. And I'll tell you this... if any of you are their buddies... you are also to blame. You back-slapping magpies have kept this program down for decades by smiling at these jerks when you pass them on the streets of Lafayette. They are clowns... all of them.

See you guys when things improve dramatically (without me). Life is too short.

If you ever wonder why people in this area don't support UL, look no further than this story and the clown show in Martin Hall.

I think some people were just getting excited about UL Track finally on its way back. Sure, it's not one of Big 3 sports, but all through the 90's, it was one of the most successful programs UL had.

How can anyone expect things to be different under Savoie when he is the hand-chosen successor of the folks who got us into this mess in the first place? Didn't there used to be a reference to the Easter Bunny around UL athletics? I think its time to bring it out again.

It may be possible that things change but not likely. Savoie was put in place by people who have a stake in things staying the same, not by people interested in change.
