WR from Thibodaux High

Speaking of recruits....... I am from the Thibodaux area and have close ties to a soon to be senior WR for Thibodaux High. He texted me last night to say that he just recieved his first scholarship offer. It is from LaTech.. I am a former college WR and will be working with him this summer to make sure he gets that offer from UL... !!!!

You cannot recruit him if you attended UL -- that would create an NCAA issue that would compromise UL's position. You are a representative of UL's athletic interests and not authorized to recruit on the universities' behalf.

I don't currently attend UL. I graduated in 2002. So, no worries. I live in Thibodaux

Also, I did not attend or play at UL. My father, mother, and brother all did. So I am good to go!!!

Are you talking about an athlete out of Donaldsonville, or he actually plays for Thibodeaux? I can tell you they are only going to sign 2 WR's in this class and they have one committed already. So unless something changes, there is only one scholarship left at that position and it might be filled after camps in June.

Well, I will cross my finger and work really hard with him.

I will also probably do some workouts with the Thibodaux RB/QB as well. He is a stud. He is only about 5'9", but built like MJD. He runs in the low 4.5 range and will run over a Big Mac if he has to. He had over 1,000 yards last season and scored well in a recent Nike camp (High 90's). He needs to work on his grades though (he is passing, but by a little bit)

It would be great if I could watch both of them in a UL jersey !!!

They have a number of athletes they really like at that position and they range from Louisiana, Florida, Mississippi and Texas. With only one slot left, he would have to come into camp this summer and blow them away out performing a number of athletes at that position. Giving that and the fact there is another local athlete that plays the same position and was named outstanding athlete at 2 NUC Combines, I don't think he is going to have a shot at UL. But I don't make those decisions, so get him into camp in June so he can be evaluated and get him to other state college camps as well. NUC is great to get a kid hyped, but college staffs are not allowed to attend those events and they want to evaluate athletes in their camps against other athletes. JMO

Gotcha..... I will work hard with both of them.... From what I understand, LaTech has invited them to their camp in June. So, I am unsure if they will be attending the UL camp
