Thread: in-door facility

  1. Ragin' Cajuns Re: in-door facility

From what I understand, after the siding is completed on the other side, all they will have left is to put down the gravel, the padding, and then the turf inside. There really is not that much left for them to do to get it ready for football season. It should be ready for then.

Any word recently about the new basketball court for the Cajundome?? I know word was they were close to having the funds to purchase a new one, which means the Cajundome court court be installed into the new facility. This really needs to be done, and hopefully they come up with an awesome design for the new court. Any news???

That is a great promotional idea. They need to have a grand opening and give away season tickets (or something like that). Call Gerald Hebert and suggest it. Heaven knows the marketing department won't think of it.

Having this complex complete prior to the begining of August when the football players come in is all that matters. Right now they are working out in the weightroom, throwing it around some and going to class. They are indoors most of the time now unless they are throwing, doing drills, running, etc.

ps Be patient ladies and gents, be patient!! Spend more time going out and earning some more money to buy your season tickets and getting your friends to do the same!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! _
    DC,

Quite some time ago you posted that there was going to be some kind of sign installed at the corner of Congress and Bertrand. I think someone even posted the picture or drawing. It has been close to, if not 1 year since we talked about that. Any word on when that will be erected?

I want to get drunk and run around that thing like a little kid.. lol...seriously, a party with a band inside and a bar type party would be cool.. they could raise some needed cash...I'm game , who do I call?..

Since he ahsn't replied yet, I will say that I remember there being some soil issues, and that the original design would be entirely too heavy. I recently heard that the structure will be built soon and that it should be up and running by the beginning of football season. i read on here that a company (90% sure it was Cox) donated a large sum, in addition to the other 2 or 3 million they already donated, to supply the sign with its screen.

Thanks. I wasn't aware of the soil issue. Hopefully it will be up soon.

Gerald Hebert. He is in charge of athletic fund raising. I don't have his number but it has been posted many times.
