BJ Ryan was an All-Star "one year" He did that one year thing twice, back to back even.

    2005, 2006.

Nah, that would be like Oklahoma having claim over Troy Aikman.

"Dark attended LSU in 1942 and was a football standout there as well as a baseball player. During World War II, he transferred through the V-12 program to the University of Louisiana ... at Lafayette (then Southwestern Louisiana Institute) in Lafayette, Louisiana, where he again showed his baseball skills, batting .461 in 1944. His football skills were evident there as well as he quarterbacked SLI to an undefeated season in 1943 and a New Year's Day victory in the Oil Bowl. This led to his getting drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 1945 NFL Draft. After serving in Asia during the war, however, he came home and chose baseball."

I'm seeing him for football in 43 and baseball 44. I'm thinking same academic year. Got his BA at SLI. One year at the eastern school doesn't equal a perfect season, bowl victory, and degree. I stand corrected.

It is my understanding that Jonathon would be preferred to be traded to the Astros. Reason is that would allow his wife to be closer to her Acadiana area family. It is not his call however. He will be a free agent year after next and then can sign with any team he likes. That may be why teams are reluctant to give the Brewers too many of their top prospects in a trade. I know Astros felt asking price was too high earlier in the year and they have one of the top farm systems in the game these days.
