The Astros need to make that push for Luc, they just lost Stassi for 6 weeks, which leaves them with only Alfredo Gonzalez as a backup catcher on the 25 man roster. Gonzalez has never played in a regular season game. They also have 4 other non roster invitees that have never played in a regular season game. They are going to start the season with Castro and only Castro with MLB experience at Catcher. he is a career .237 hitter that hit .211 last year.

C'mon Jon Daniels! Bring Luc to Arlington!
Didn't the Astros just re-sign (possibly even to avoid arbitration) Jason Castro? I think they are paying him like $5M a year now. Which I think is dumb, b/c he can't hit worth a ____.
I did read that he worked on his swing in the off-season and was hoping to have more pop now.
Anyway, back to the topic, I don't think the Astros want to pay Luc what he's worth. I'd love to see Luc in Houston, but it ain't happening.
He's batting .250 (3-12) this spring, with 1HR, and 2RBI. Not great, but for having change his swing in the off-season you gotta start some where.

A coworker of mines sister in law, is way up in the Texas Rangers organization and she sent me in a shadow box an autographed baseball signed by Nolan Ryan! They sat for Mother's Day one year in the Global Life Park Stadium's Presidential Suite. No Grorge Bush was not there that game. My peer would not have been able to go if I had not switched and picked up 4 of her shifts. Her thank you to me was the Nolan Ryan ball!
A couple of interesting things:
1. The Rangers and Brewers are playing each other tomorrow (Thursday)
2. Lucroy isn't the only catcher that the Rangers are seriously considering: http://bit.ly/254eiRJ
Depending on the Brewers' asking price (which I've heard for months is pretty high, especially in the futures area), Norris might be the more realistic option. Both guys would likely be significant upgrades over the current catching platoon of Robinson Chirinos and Chris Gimenez.
