Lucroy is killin it this year and don't see him slowing down in the near future. But IMO, he blossomed too late to have HOF numbers. Looking at his numbers compared to other catchers who will receive HOF votes, Ivan Rodriguez and Joe Mauer had well over 1,000 hits by 28 years of age compared to Lucroys 580 (and more gold gloves).

Not trying to downplay his accomplishments at all or saying you're wrong, just interested in opinions regarding what they consider hall of fame worthy.

Late impressions could be more lasting than early ones.

    Perhaps.

Saw this audio interview after the Dodger sweep. Apparently he does a weekly radio interview.

  4. Default Jonathan Lucroy's swing made for doubles

Is there such a thing as having a swing made for hitting doubles?

That certainly has been the case for the Brewers' Jonathan Lucroy, who leads the National League with 42 doubles after hitting two more Tuesday night in a 6-1 victory over Toronto. Lucroy is vying to become the first primary catcher in modern major league baseball history to lead his league in doubles.

Lucroy is the 19th highest paid catcher in the league...

Dream Scenario: After this season, Luc deserves a new structured contract plain and simple. Brewers probably won't pay. Jason Castro's contract for the Astros ends after the season. Hopefully the Astros make a move after the season to go after him. He'd be fantastic framing pitches for that young stable of arms.

That would be quite amazing as I'm a fellow Astros fan...and would love to be able to cheer for Luc as astro and not a brewer. But I just hope he does well and is rewarded for it by whomever!

I don't wish that on my worst enemy. I don't see Lucroy being the kind of guy to chase every dollar just to be a loser. He would get a really good deal from a good organization and make a contender better on day 1. No need to play for the jaguars...I mean Astros.

The Astros are actually not that far from being very good in the near future. They have built for a couple of years from now, not now. They are young and deep. The question is can they keep the young talent. If so, I would think that a guy like Luc would do very well in Houston.

Lol mock all you want, but the stros will be in the playoffs next year and will be contenders within the next 3 years. The problem with your theory is that all the good organization's already have good catchers with good deals. The Astros need a "face" for their organization. He's the perfect person for it.

History tells you they won't, not signing your top draft picks tells you they won't. The Astros will always be a couple years away. You know why they can't hold on to talent? Because the talent knows they are a joke and want to move on to a winner. Aside from that run they made which seems like 20 years ago, how bad have the Astros been? They literally cannot give away tickets.
