does anyone know if the pitching rotation starts from the top after the all star break or does it just continue from before the break? I'm asking this because I'm trying to figure out what day Luc wont be catching. I think it will either be Friday or sunday.

Catcher Jonathan Lucroy remained out of action for the second consecutive game with a bruised and swollen right hand. Lucroy said he suffered the injury when jammed twice by fastballs from San Francisco's Tim Lincecum on Wednesday.

"Throwing's not really a problem. It's gripping the bat that hurts," Lucroy said. "You need to get the swelling and bruising out so it doesn't get worse."

George Kottaras has been catching left-hander Randy Wolf, who starts Sunday against Pittsburgh. That will give Lucroy another day of rest, followed by the three off days at the all-star break.

"That should be enough," said Lucroy. "I should be good to go when we get back."

BTW, The Houston Ragin Cajun Club will be getting together for the Saturday game, as well as meeting a little early for some pregame hanging out. I'll post all of the details soon, but if anyone is planning to go and hasn't purchased tickets yet, we're telling our members to try to get tickets somewhere in Sections 409-411 so that we're somewhat together. There are a couple different ticket promotions going that night for those sections that should make it fairly affordable family outing.

If you need the details before I get around to posting them, PM me or email us at...

Is the visitor's dugout on the 3rd base side? My first time to Minute Maid Park.

    Yes.

First time? It's pretty easy to get to coming from the east. Let me know if you have any questions about the area.

Cool. Being it's our first time I'll try to get seats close to the action.

You have any recommendations for food joints in the area? We'll have a 10 and 14 year old in tow. Plan on walking over from the Holiday Inn Express on the other side of the convention center. Let us know about any pre-game activities. I think I saw the BOPster will be out and about.

ermas Southwest....it may be spelled irmas....it is a really good Mexican joint, it is a little pricey, but very good. They also have the Inn at The Ballpark which is nice as well.

Irma's is good, and is only a few blocks north and west of Minute Maid. You are definitely right about it being pricey. A large group of us went over there for lunch last summer. I thought something was a little odd when there was no menu, meaning no prices, only the waiter telling you what they were offering that day. A very good stuffed chicken breast, iced tea, and ~$25 later, we headed back to the office. I don't mind paying for good food, but $25 for lunch is a bit out of hand.

    Beau...
Coming from that Holiday Inn, I don't know much that you'll find much on your way to the park, without going a bit out of your way. You'll be just a few blocks from Discovery Green and then it's a straight shot to the park. We'll be hanging out at the B.U.S., which is just across the street from MM, prior to the game. I think its more of a bar, so the kids may or may not be allowed in. Next door to there is Home Plate Bar and Grill, but that gets pretty packed before games, so get there early. HP B&G is alright, decent beer selection and decent pub/bar type of food...nothing special.

You could also Google 'Shops at Houston Center'. It would be out of your way but still walkable...there are several places to eat in that little area. The only thing I'm not sure of is what you'll find on a weekend night. Downtown Houston is almost like a ghost town, at least compared to during a weekday, in the evenings and on weekends. So, I'm not sure who much of the Houston Center will be active.

Lucky's Pub has pretty good food, but is located on the other side of US 59. It's only about 4 blocks from MM. We held the RCAF tour there in April.

That's about all I can come up with right now.

looks like Wolf will pitch the friday game against the astros assuming the pitching rotation doesnt get disrupted b/c of injuries or something. so i would avoid that game if i were you.

UL Baseball Lucroy vs. Astros, July 31

I know this has been talked about in a couple of other threads, but I wanted to get a roll call on who's coming to the game.

    Saturday, July 31
    Astros vs. Brewers
    6:05 PM

There will be some Cajun fans from the Houston Ragin' Cajun Club sitting in Sections 409-411.

We'll also be across the street at the BUS starting at 4:00.

Wear some UL gear and we'll see you there!
