Yeah, I get that, but just looking at Starkville.
They won the SEC in 1941.
Next championship was a division championship they won in 1998. That particular club went 18-6 the 2 years after that, then fired the coach after 3 losing seasons.
Finally, the current stretch under Mullen is the most sustained success they have had for decades, and mark my words, they will force him out one day for no good reason.
Such is life in Starkville, MS.
34 is pretty impressive.. very impressive..
one thing for sure, i would think.. as #28 (mack brown) can speak about thru his coaching experience.. one can be at the top and then, "if" one doesn't continue his sucess, one can fall..
if hudspeth wishes to continue his coaching career somewhere else, one would guess, he will have to make all cajun fans happy, by his continued sucess on the field here..
Miles over HUD? I don't think so
I think the Michigan coach is WAY overrated!
Mack Brown is incredibly overrated.
Agreed, Some people say coaches are overrated if they believe the team wins only because of the talent of the players, but it take a special kind of individual to snatch defeat out of the hands of victory while everyone watches in shock and awe....and then get a huge pay raise at the end of the season.
I noticed some people disagreeing with Miles being ranked so high, but has anyone noticed that Petrino for WKU is ranked #8? Heck, he's ranked above Miles. Yes, Petrino did have success in the past, but that was with places that had sizable budget and a national name. He and Hud have the same winning percentage if I figured correctly. Hud has done more with less. Petrino is now in a place that doesn't have those advantages and he hasn't even coached a season yet with those disadvantages and they rank him that high? And to top it off, Petrino has a nack for self destruction. Please.
