Thread: Congratulations Kyle

  1. UL Baseball Congratulations Kyle

When Kyle Seibold's baseball career at UL ended in 1995, he began a five-year stint at KPEL-AM radio.

During that time, he enjoyed covering such memorable events as Carencro High in the 5A state championship game or the UL baseball team going to the College World Series in 2000.

Throughout those years, however, something always told him that coaching would be in his future. He was right.

And after six years as an assistant coach, his first season as a head coach confirmed that in a big way. Seibold led the New Iberia Yellow Jackets to the program's first playoff win in over a decade, earning him the distinction as the Class 5A state baseball Coach of the Year.

On Tuesday, he learned that he had been voted as the Class 5A state Coach of the Year in baseball.

A few weeks before that, it was settled that Seibold was the new defensive coordinator in football for the Yellow Jackets, replacing Laurence Hutson.
