MelRock, If you could see it, couldn't the coaches? I know Tony is the pitching coach. I'm not sure what he's doing to get his starting pitchers ready to start the game, but whatever he's doing hasn't worked the last two games or last Friday night's game either. I think he might want to change it up.

You can only coach so much. Either you hve the pitchers or you don't. We don't have enough solid pitchers this year.

Robe said before the first game the pitching was not at the normally high levels this year and we'll go as far as they take us. I have to believe Traffica is physically OK. If he wasn't doing reasonably well in intersquads I doubt they would put him in games.

I give this team at this moment a 5. Started the season with promise. Could see it at the plate. So call it, mound or plate Performance? You have talent here. So that little round ball above their shoulders will have to be screwed on right. Rob, don't take so long to make a decision. This idea of letting him work out of the inning did not work last night. Like it was said above, Traffica has problems, so having someone warming up and ready after you get your dreaded crooked number (2) could be the answer. I don't know if coaches do this because they don't want to have the pitcher feel that he can't get the job done on the mound. He wanted to see if Traffica could work his way out of the inning and settle down. Didn't happen. For a mid week game you could see that both coaches want to win the game. There was no shuffling 5-6 pitchers like they do in mid week games.....so get it fixed.....like all of you, MVOO..

He sent smith to the bullpen after the 3rd batter, obviously he saw something different than in warm ups

You know you are pitching bad when you get the hook before you get an out, and the fan board says the coach waited too long.

I was surprised that there were that many people standing up cheering as he walked off the mound back to the dugout

Bab says Traffica is at the doctors office now and may have retorn his ulnar collateral ligament. Lets hope its not that

Also doing a good job of explaining why its not really possible or feasible to take him out earlier. You just dont have a guy warmed up right off the bat.

Surprised, I don't know. The fans acknowledge you can have a bad start, but don't get down on yourself. Let's hope that he hasn't reinjured that ligament......
