The Ragin' Cajuns wanted to play their regional round at home, and didn't get that opportunity. But the UL baseball team got a decent consolation prize Monday when the bracket was announced for the NCAA Division I Baseball Championship.

The Cajuns are the number two seed - after apparently coming within a hair of a top seed - in the regional round to be played at College Station, Texas. They'll open NCAA action at 1 p.m. Friday against third-seeded Ohio State at Texas A&M's Olsen Field.

"The first reward would have been to host a regional," said Cajun coach Tony Robichaux. "But our fans can get there and that's what I like about it. At this point, you're going to be playing against someone's number one arm and one of the top 64 teams in the country. If you don't step up, you're coming home."
