By striking out 13 times during an 8-3 loss to the Oakland Athletics on Friday at Minute Maid Park, the Astros became the first club in MLB history to record four consecutive games with at least 13 strikeouts at any point during the season. The Astros have struck out 56 times in 129 at-bats (43.4 percent). In addition, first baseman Brett Wallace set a record for the most strikeouts (11) in the first four games of a season.
