I know people that live and love Lafayette that refer to the city as Laffy. I don't think the intent is to be derogatory. I actually think they say it with affection. Now if someone calls UL, UL-Laff or Oh La la! It gets my blood boiling.

I was born in Lafayette, soon to be a resident in Lafayette once again. I have never been to Laffy. I don't hear people driving across the basin bridge to go to rougey (Baton Rouge). Use the proper name or stop wasting other peoples air, it's too precious to be wasted on your dumbass.

Some pretty sweet little ladies use it pretty regular. And they love Lafayette to death. Some people will ignore a real problem and gnaw of this kind of crap until their molars fall out.
