Thread: Fantastic finish

  1. UL Baseball Fantastic finish

I would imagine that the choice for the last man on the 25 man roster was between Van De Keere and a pitcher (Zorich?). In the last at-bat of the game (bases loaded, no outs), you sure would like to not be out of position players. But oh how John Zorich came through. He fouled off two two-strike pitches to stay alive, did not back off of the plate, and when they decided to come inside with a 1-2 fastball, he took it for the team. Great job John!

I am a Director of Engineering for a publicly traded network security and WAN optimization software company. I live in Austin, Texas.
and here i was thinking i was (smiles)

Probably what I enjoy most is having free-form conversation on the radio with Jay Walker, Scott Prather, and Billy Ryckman. I also do several radio interviews with a couple of different Austin sports shows each season. Again, all in fun.
ready to live on the wilder side of things.. got a few moments in the am? .. then again "no fun" on the morning show.. (bigger smiles)

Good stuff, as much as I wanted to complain about this game it was really well played on USA's part. Glad to see the Cajuns hanging tough.

Troy will surely help out our rpi a little

Devery didn't even make the trip. Zorich WAS the only option. A W is a W no matter how you draw it up.

maybe the next week.. haven't bothered you so far this year as your gigs in the afternoons have gone so well.. and didn't want to "flood the market" sort of speak.. i'll just go ahead and have joe torre on in the morning as planned ..

maybe cajuns will get a regional or i'll see you wherever they end up and i'll buy you a red snowball..

Yes, that was my point. I am sure Robichaux thought about whether to select a position player or a pitcher for that last roster spot. In an ironic twist, he selected a pitcher that he had to use in the lineup (albeit a pitcher that hit in JC).

Is this a pic of the Walk-off-Hit-Batter?????

I was able to watch bits and pieces of all the games today on the Sun Belt TV on the internet!!! Pictures are clear and at full speed(no dragging)!!! They are several seconds behind the broadcast of Jay Bird's KPEL 1420 though. Only other thing I do not like is they(Sun Belt) continues even after we as fans and the administration(media guides) have asked many times NOT to be called or printed as ULL!!! They also Louisiana-Lafayette us to death, even though ULM goes by ULM, even on their website.

For under $10 bucks the Web cast is WELL worth it!! $60 bucks gets you the whole year including Volleyball, scoccer, football, m/w basketball, baseball and softball and more!!!

zorich was not the pitcher who took deverey's spot, it was a freshman that has not senn any action this year. His name is chad i think. Zorich was making the trip no matter what.

In any event, the final roster selection came down to a pitcher vs. a position player. And since a pitcher was chosen, only a pitcher was left to pinch-hit for Pilgreen.
