That said, he has played in 34 games this season for a New Mexico team that won 29 games, clinched the Mountain West regular-season and conference tournament titles, advanced to the NCAA tournament and was ranked 15th in the nation. This season he played limited minutes (6.4 per game), but keep in mind the Lobos had two seniors and five juniors and were experienced at the guard position. He had the assist on Tony Snell's winning 3 against George Mason in November and had productive games off the bench against Davidson, Indiana State, USC, Wyoming and Fresno State.

Also, former Cajuns big man Javan Mitchell became a starter at Southern after sitting out last season as a transfer. He averaged 9.4 points, 4.9 rebounds and 0.9 blocks in 33 games this season as the Jaguars won 23 games, finished second in the SWAC's regular-season standings and earned the league's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament after winning the SWAC tourney. He scored in double figures 15 times, including a season-high 18 points against Mississippi Valley State. He had 11 points and six rebounds in Southern's upset at Texas A&M in December.
No, thank you sir. It just aggravates me that people base a players ability off of stats alone. One of the best programs IN THE NATION (even though they flunked Harvards exam ) didn't gobble him up just because his nickname is Pancake. It's because THIS KID CAN PLAY

Is Javan the "promises made, promises not kept" player where Robert Lee promised him :15 minutes and didn't give it to him? Is he the player that when Marlin wouldn't re-up the R.L. promise (plus bad grades) he just quit college as opposed to normal transfer and normal sit out a year, player?

Again, Pancake may turn out to be great. But, just because he signed with a great program doesn't necessarily validate his ability. Big programs miss in recruiting just like other programs.

Sausage Smith, Biscuit Benoit, Eggs Elway, Syrup Sonnier and Ham Hanson didn't want to come here either. Breakfast is behind us... on to lunch.

I stand corrected. I could've sworn he was a end of the bench player over there

Nope. He definitely came here with everyone knowing he could play, and play well.

I may be in the minority, but I won't blame the kid for decommitting when the situation he committed to changed.
It is my understanding he asked for his release long before JJ was kicked off the team.

Ok, can we just let the kid go already? Why are we even discussing this, he chose to go elsewhere and JJ sabotaged what would have been a very solid team had him, Colbey and Smith remained Cajuns.

All of those events are said and done, now we just need to move forward.
