Boy does this really suck seeing this kid play in the tournament for a top ranked New Mexico team when he could've been flourishing for us. Damn you JJ. Sorry, I'm a bottle of red into my night and my picks haven't been going well.

You do know he has had a very average freshman season.
As opposed to a spectacular freshman season, which happens to all the freshman right?
What about the kid that transferred to Southern? We need a strong basketball program to be considered by another conference - lets face it - baseball & softball won't get us their - we need Marlin to get it together
He's averaging 1.1 pts per game and shooting 36%. That's not just average, that's terrible.
He basically played in all their games. That's more than I can say about half our team
No the point is in fact he is not here, he is there and his loss here is not a game changer at any level, and not a big loss to this program, or perhaps any kind of loss. When we lost him it was believed he would be the kind of freshman that would show gobs and gobs of upside. His stats say otherwise.
I prefer to focus on the freshmen we did have. Wronkoski, Long, Sheperd all better than Pancake IMO. And Sheperd was his replacement. Even Soto who I consider to be below hype expectation is better.
This years off guard Register is better. Marlin getting a tough rebounder in Jackson, and members of Scout know of several other highly wanted bigs who are likely spring signings.
We got Marlin for 2013/14 & 2014/15. I am focused on the players he is bringing in, not those who ran away.
I'm freakin glad we didn't get a brother of JJ.
Any true freshman whose getting some PT on a top 20 team, regardless of the sport and stats, would be welcomed with open arms here by everyone. Especially at this point in the basketball program.
I'm not saying I wouldn't welcome him. My point is he is having a very below average freshman year. I don't know if his stats would be much better here or not. However, there are players like Orien Green and Darshawn McClennan who transferred from big schools (and were end of the bench guys there with unimpressive stats) and did great here. So you never know. Maybe he would've had a much better year if he were here. But personally, I don't think he would've been good enough to be worth all the drama he'd probably bring.
