Would love to go; but needed to leave about 6 hours ago to make the time. Do plan on driving by the complex next weekend as we'll be in town for some graduations.

Hey Louisiana Fans!!! Sorry for the late post but I had a date with wifey tonight which was after the presentation!

I was lucky enough to meet J-Town and one of our NEW Ragin Cajun Fans this afternoon at the meeting.

Gerald spoke infront of some 20+ Cajun Supporters(some may have been at the baseball game), but none the less this was an informative meeting.

    1) Gerald touched on Universities such as Kansas St, Rutgers, and Boisie St. as programs that were down for years and after some fan cash commits the programs began to bloom and have exploded on the scene.

    2) Asked fans to do what they can do to give time, money, sweat equity, buy season tickets, and sell the programs to others or whatever they can do!!

    3) Showed the power point presentation on befores and afters of some of the projects that have been completed since he got there 4 years ago.(parking overlay, marquee signs, Lourdes Park, gateways into complex and stadium, whirlpool room, training room, indoor facility, equipment room, etc.)

    4) Indoor Practice Facility pics to come as soon as Turbine can show me how to down load them. IPF to be completed by JUNE 11th, 2007
GH stated High Schools could use to practice when available to prepare for an upcoming opponent(Moncla Family Donated $1,500,000 Million for the Facility Naming Rights!!!!

    5) New basketball court for Cajundome very possible needs someone to step up soon.(Only $75,000 left to be raised) to make this purchase!

    6) Gateways into the complex number in 9 with 4 new ones to be built soon, they are $15,000/year for 3 year minimums. One gate by Franks donates the $45,000/year.

    7) Gates entering the Football field are $15,000/year also one is sold to State Farm with another to be anounced sold very soon. For ALL Donors to theSwampGate project from Delphi, Alumni, Students(SGA), and RaginPagin our SwampGates on the Student side will be completed prior to the begining of the 2007 Football Season

    8) Cox Donation of $2,000.000 in cash will have some of it trickle in through an add spot on the Matrix Wall at the corner of Bertrand and West Congress, which will be Constructed by Mid Summer!!!! Won't take long to build, and Cox also put up the $250.000 for the Hign Def Matrix that Louisiana will run adds on making even more revenue. Cox is to donate another $2,000,000 in inkind donations!!!!

    9) Money to Double the size of the Weightroom is finally in place and construction will begin at a time later to be announced!!!! This is huge!!!

    10) Soon a H U G E donation will be announced!!! No, bigger than that thought you just had, bigger than the $1.5 and $4 MILLION together!!!!!!!

    11) Season ticket goal for Football this year is 10,000 so get out there and sell some tickets by buying your own and getting your Cajun Friends to loosen up those pockets, its the life blood of our programs!!!!!!!!!!

    12) Money in place to expand and totally remodel the baseball locker rooms.

    13) Money needed to resurface the baseball field and add new drainage and sprinkler systems.

    14) New TWO story locker and meeting facility for softball to be constructed in Left Centerfield very soon!!!! Will have patio's on the second level for rent/purchase!!!

    15) 5 new UL Football patios will be constructed and all have already been bought. Eventually they could be around the whole semi circle of both endzones!!!!!!

    16) Stated that the UL Hilton Hotel has a 96% occupancy rate and the investor plans to add on the the existing Hotel and build another on the UL campus!

    17) Also, Gerald spoke about the next parking towers to be built will be, one behind Long Gym and the other on the Athletic Campus.

    18) Also, talked about the 400+ appartments getting ready to break ground on Bertrand across from the UL Track and Soccer complex, as well as the Complex on the corner of Bertrand and Eraste Landry and the other one behind Lafayette motors near the strip! He said, APPROVAL was just given to construct more Legacy Place appts. These are all College Based Appts which Gerald stated will be great for UL Athletics because it would have MORE students living on CAMPUS and fewer Commuting which could very well turn into better student attendance at UL Athletic events!!!!!

    Whew!!!!!!!!

I enjoyed the meeting also. I've already contacted someone about the basketball court but he doesn't think he can get it approved. I'm waiting to hear back from a few others.

Same here J-Town! It was very nice meeting with you and New Cajun Fan yesterday evening. As soon as Tim finishes with the legislation concerning Optometry within the state of Louisiana, I am sure we will be able to get his business-Cajun fans group together and meet with Gerald and your group. At this point just start getting your Cajun-Business Fans together.

If there is 3 companies lets say they could each do $25,000 and may be able to work things so that they could do it over a 3-5year period!!

Monday I will start working on the company my girlfriend works for. They are giving out bonuses that would pay for a few of these floors. I'm going to work on swinging them this way.
