Biggest risk on Carson not coming will be from the draft. Miami Dade was #3 in polls last I looked and he is their #1 starter,, and I hear he is getting alot of interest from MLB teams. I would think he has gotten his head straight or he wouldnt be still playing.
Greg Milhorn is doing well also- both bring fastballs in the 90's and good breaking balls. Milhorn is likely to get drafted again also.

Looking at Miami Dade's stats, Baranik only has one appearance thus far.

None. Compton a late rounder but I don't think he will be offered much. Strentz with a big year is a possible draft prospect.

Agree but the draft is based so much on potential. Remember Catcher Thad Griffen? Dude had power, a great arm, the size, but could not hit a lick. If he wasn't firm on his commitment to UL he was a fairly high prospect.

Mike is in a great situation being a draft eligible sophomore. He's got some leverage the next two years

Kids continue to leave here early because of their "potential"...and to make a few bucks. But then, in most cases, wash out after a year or two of working for minimum wage and traveling by bus from town to town. I always thought the goal was to not only MAKE it to that next level, but to stick and stay there a while.

Stay in college and continue developing so you have a better chance of staying there for more than 18 months. And THEN if you make it up there, you can REALLY make some bucks.

I know that...which is why Fuselier left early. And it is my opinion that he wasn't ready...was leading a hard life...and is now headed home. He made more up front than he might have as a senior...but back to my point. Is the goal to make it to the majors? Or is it to get a few more dollars up front...but then wash out because you weren't ready?

I dont think an extra year in college would make most of those that leave early good enough to make the majors or significantly better in general. I think staying gives them an extra year of college ball that maybe a lot would want back once they're out of the game, but I dont think it all of a sudden makes them a better MLB prospect. And as mentioned, there is a big trade off at times in the money from JR to SR year.

Majority of kids who get drafted just aren't good enough, they have the potential but they just aren't. Or they just can't play at that level consistently enough. Guys like lucroy can do play at that level day in and day out.
