Thread: ROUX: Ragin' Cajuns sign Breaux Bridge state champ

  1. Track & Field ROUX: Ragin' Cajuns sign Breaux Bridge state champ

Breaux Bridge pole vaulter Chris Roy is used to setting goals and then attaining them.

If that continues, the UL track and field program will certainly be the beneficiary after the reigning Class 4A state champion signed with the Ragin' Cajuns on Tuesday.

"It was an awesome feeling to sign and make up my mind where I was going to go to college," Roy said.

Roy selected a full offer from the Cajuns over a full offer from McNeese and a partial from LSU.

"All the hard work has paid off," he said.

What a signing. I have seen this young man excel in this event over the last 3 years. He will be an excellent addition to the Cajun Track team.

Having developed the Pentathlam and being criticized for inaccuracies, the "rest of the story" should be corrected that Chris' grandfather is Allen Credeur and pole vaulted for Coach Luther Perrin at Scott High School in the mid 1960's. Congratulations to the entire Roy and Cajun families.
