Thread: Cajuns baseball TOP 64 of all time

  1. UL Baseball Cajuns baseball TOP 64 of all time

    http://www.baseballamerica.com/today...es/263134.html

I know that we do not get a lot of respect from Baseball America. But check this out, we are ranked #43 in the Top baseball teams of the 64 team era.

Others of note on this list are:

    6 LSU
    13 Arizona State
    16 Tulane
    39 South Alabama
    41 Florida Atlantic
    44 Southern
    53 Southern Miss
    56 Florida International

Now lets make a run in the NCAA tournament and to the CWS so that they need to move us up to the Top 30 or so.

    Geaux Cajuns!!!

Vanderbilt must be making the list off of this year.

Has FAU ever made the CWS? I am curious as to how they are ahead of us.

Tulane, imho, is a tad overrated on that list (2 CWS and 0 wins in the Jones era). I'm curious, did they have a history before Rick Jones to justify such a high ranking? (never mind, I just RTFA and found out it was from 1999 to present- the 64 team era).

I am not arguing your point, but Tulane had a single win in both CWS appearances. They defeated Nebraska in 2001 and Oregon State in 2005.

No, Florida Atlantic has never made it to the CWS. They won the 2002 Tuscaloosa regional. They were then pummeled soundly in two games by Georgia Tech in the super regionals.

There are many questionable rankings in this list. But then you need to consider the source. College Baseball is not what BA does best.

All you needed to do was open your mouth to show off that bright red Ragin' Cajun tongue ... unless you ate the lipstick.
