Basketball head plans to focus on area recruitment
Erroll Rogers has always dreamed of becoming a head women's basketball coach on the collegiate level.
His dream has finally come true and it couldn't have come at a better time or place, as he returns to Louisiana-Lafayette - his alma mater - as the successor to J. Kelley Hall.
"It feels good," said Rogers, a former Opelousas Catholic coach. "Even though I'm really happy to be back in Louisiana, there is a lot of work to be done. I don't have time to worry about being back home, because I'm worried about getting the job done."
Rogers, who served as the head girls basketball coach at OC for five years, Lafayette High for one year and Holy Rosary for two years, said Louisiana-Lafayette wasn't his dream job, but a place he felt he could succeed.
