Ragin Cajun Hockey

What do they think their chances are of actually being able to use BC? As I understand, this is a club team, not an actual men's team, kinda like UL Rugby. In order to make this or rugby or men's soccer, actual NCAA sports, the school would have to add a women's sport to match because of Title IX reasons. Therefore, they wouldn't be much of a revenue generator, but sure would absorb a lot because of having to create the ice and such. The funds wouldn't come from the athletic department, but from an intermurals fund, and i don't know if there is enough money from that fund to start covering all this stuff.

hope it works out for them. I remember some of the issues we always ran into when it came to getting some funds and starting up the UL rugby squad and it was a huge pain in the ass.

The IceGators in their hayday use to attract 12,000 in the Cajundome. Perhaps Ron Handy is trying to get some investors to fix up BC? I know I miss hockey and I'm sure there are some deep pockets around Lafayette that miss it also and are willing to pony up. Here's the league website http://www.achahockey.org/

Oh GOD! All the rumors I've been hearing are true!!

I wish I played hockey, I'd try out. Man, this is great. I'll sure as hell be going to every game.
