Thread: Strentz return still on track

  1. Default Strentz return still on track

    Nothing's certain yet.

But after missing last weekend's non-conference series at Southern Mississippi, UL Ragin' Cajuns catcher Michael Strentz -- according to UL coach Tony Robichaux -- "could" return for this weekend's Sun Belt Conference-opening home series against ULM.

One thing that bothers me in this article regarding the scoreboard.

It has gone from "plans are" to "hopes are" to install it after the USA series and before the SB tourney.

Not a good trend . again.

I am becoming more and more negative; I used to be such a positive person . and now I am this.

I REALLY hope they don't rush mike back from this.

Having the freshman play as well as he did, on the road, against a quality opponent, probably helps not rushing him back!

I mean I know what you're saying, but let's not read TOO far into this. In that SAME paragraph it also says. "UL plans to install a new scoreboard at M.L. "Tigue" Moore later this season."

Take from it what you will, but I think the "hopes" part of it is more attributed to the writer of the article choosing a word. They will get it done on time.

Why would anyone believe that would not be the case?

    Haha.

I could see Strentz doing some late game pinch hitting this weekend. Thurman has been impressive.

Bad thing is pitchers will always jam strentz because of his power, leaves that hand vulnerable

Yep, maybe they will come out with a new type arm band that extends a fiberglass shield protecting the hands . I'm sure he will see many inside pitches now.

I do not think you will see him until he is ready to play the field. The problem is not with him catching the ball it is getting hit in the same hand and loosing him for the season is what Robichaux said last week.

He will be wearing a hand protector.

It looks like Strentz ‏is taking batting practice.
