He uses the one time that Traffica went deep into the game to try to shame you. In his other three outings he went 4.2, 4.2 and 1.1 innings.

He's given up 13 ER in 17 innings. I'm not saying he's a bad pitcher but you need more out of your Friday guy. He may go into the bullpen and pitch great and work his way back into the weekend -- that wouldn't surprise me at all.

I agree, I actually found it odd we started traffica on Friday night out the gate. That's a lot of pressure for someone trying to get back to form.

Yep...no pressure there. He'll be fine, but it takes time and innings.

He threw over 70 pitches each time he went 4.2 innings. And I don't have to try to shame him or you...that ____ happens automatically here. You don't have to go deep in a game to throw a ton of pitches.

Anyone who has seen him pitch, knows he has been solid this season. He made one bad pitch against Central Michigan, had a huge cushion against UTSA with which to work with, and was DOMINANT against Sacred Heart. Guy had one bad game against Southern Miss. We have only lost one Friday night game so far this season...if it ain't broke...don't fix it.

so he followed up the longest outting of his career with the worst outting of his career. Sounds like his arm didnt respond to that very well coming off arm surgery. Its how a guys arm responds to outtings that matters, you can push a muscle once its warm. i'm sure you know more about pitching than robe does though.

    You are one dumb guy.

He's had one good outing out of 4 this year. His first week wasn't bad, first weekend no one really goes deep into the game.

Against UTSA, he gave up 9 hits and 4 runs in less than 5 innings -- I wouldn't call that solid.
Against Sacred Heart, 7 innings 2 hits 2 earned runs, great. By the way, Sacred Heart has 1 win so far this season.
Against USM, 1.1 innings 7 hits 4 earned runs.

On the year, 17.2 IP 22 hits 13 ER (1-1) 6.63 ERA. He's gotten unbelievable run support but if you're going up against a good pitcher, like you usually do on Friday, you need a better performance than that.

He may win back his Friday night spot, but going in to conference, you have to get something better on Fridays.
